Halloween Around the World Craft - Poland Lights of Remembrance

Poland – Lights of Remembrance Lantern

Discover a beautiful tradition from Poland with this simple Lights of Remembrance lantern craft.

Inspired by the customs surrounding All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, when families visit the graves of loved ones and light candles in remembrance, this activity gives children an opportunity to explore how different cultures remember and honour those who have died.

Children create their own colourful paper lantern using a simple template and pieces of translucent tissue paper. The finished lantern looks especially lovely with a battery-operated LED tealight placed inside.

This activity is ideal for families, schools, home educators, community groups and children’s clubs, and works particularly well as part of a Halloween Around the World, autumn, cultural traditions or remembrance theme.

A colourful, creative activity that combines craft, culture and learning in a way that is accessible and engaging for children.
